The Tamron 150–500 mm f5‑6.7 Di III VC VXD Lens is a super-telephoto zoom for Sony E‑mount (also available for Nikon Z/Fujifilm), offering a massive reach from 150 to 500 mm in a relatively compact form. Its 25-element/16-group optics include XLD, LD, and hybrid aspherical elements with BBAR‑G2 coatings for sharp, high-contrast results across the frame, even in backlit conditions. Powered by a VXD linear motor autofocus system, it delivers fast, quiet, and accurate focusing optimized for both stills and video. VC (Vibration Compensation) provides up to ~3 stops of stabilization for handheld shooting. With close-focus capabilities—0.6 m minimum at 150 mm (1:3.1 magnification) and 1.8 m at 500 mm (1:3.7)—it excels in wildlife, sports, or tele-macro work. Though it’s a heavyweight at ~1.7 kg and uses an extending barrel, its build includes moisture sealing, an Arca-compatible tripod mount, zoom-lock, and flexible usability features for demanding shoots.
